? Bronx residents are preparing for the half foot of snow that?s expected to fall this weekend during this unusually warm winter season.
A hardware store in Throgs Neck urges homeowners to stock up on flashlights, batteries, shovels and rock salt to prevent slips and falls. Meanwhile, city officials are warning people to use space heaters ? not ovens ? to stay warm.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg says workers are ready to clear some 6,300 miles of roads. Officials estimate it will cost $1 million for every inch of snow that falls.
