Thousands of Bronx residents turned out at the third annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk Sunday.
Sponsored by the American Cancer Society (ACS), the walk works to educate women about the importance of early detection as well as money to help find a cure. The walk is 3.5 miles and is led by a group of breast cancer survivors.
The ACS started the nationwide walk in 1993, but this is only the third year one has been held in the Bronx.
