A man is facing charges after allegedly scamming an elderly resident in Yonkers.
Police say Zhi Wei Zhao targeted the woman in the city back in April.
The Brooklyn man allegedly sent the victim an email with a phone number to call.
Once on the phone, police say Zhao demanded $40,000 to clear her name from a federal investigation.
Yonkers police worked with the NYPD to make the arrest.
Zhao is charged with grand larceny.
