Voters in the Bronx and the rest of New York City slowly started trickling into polling stations Tuesday to vote in primary elections. The main race features New York City Comptroller William Thompson Jr. and Councilman Tony Avella contending for the Democratic spot on the ballot in the city's mayoral race.
Primary elections are also being held for the city's public advocate and comptroller, as well as for several City Council seats in the Bronx.
In Co-op City, embattled Councilman Larry Seabrook is facing off against challengers Andy King and Jerome Rice.
Polls will be open across New York City until 9 p.m.
