Spring Valley police are investigating a string of robberies that happened in the village over the past week, with the latest incident involving a taxi driver who was held up at gunpoint.
Police say the cab driver picked up three men on West Church Street Thursday. In the course of the ride, cops say one of the passengers produced a handgun, and the trio got away with $150 and the keys to the cab.
Police believe the incident may be connected to three similar robberies that happened Monday. On Tuesday, another robbery took place, but police say it's unrelated.
Spring Valley Mayor Noramie Jasmine plans to increase the village's police force by hiring three more officers.
