Summer basketball camps are giving young Bronx players a shot at a future in the game.
Mount St. Michael hoops coach Tom Fraher is running a camp of 50-plus children ages 8 to 16. Fraher believes the small number of participants allows him and his team to teach basketball one-on-one.
Mount player Ray Lobban believes the camp is vital to help players develop the fundamentals.
"When [you?re in] high school, the coaches expect you to know all that stuff already," Lobban said.
Nearby, Cardinal Spellman's coach is running a camp of 26-plus children ages 8 to 17.
