Family and friends came together Sunday to remember a 16-year-old Arlington High School student who was fatally stabbed after a football game.
The vigil was held on the Poughkeepsie Waterfront in memory of 16-year old Quaraan Smith, who was killed in a fight in the school parking lot earlier this month.
Those who knew him say Smith had so much promise and a bright future ahead, but now, all they are left with are the memories of his bright smile and positive outlook.
The funeral for Smith will be held Tuesday at Bethel Church of God in Poughkeepsie.
Nestor Ortiz-Ocampo, 18, was arrested after the stabbing and is facing a manslaughter charge.
The Poughkeepsie resident will appear in LaGrange Town Court on Oct. 5.
