1h agoThe Town of Carmel Police Department is investigating a serious crash this evening that left a driver with serious injuries in Putnam County.
Officials said an elderly female driver struck a rock wall in front of a home at 63 Mount Hope Road in Mahopac at the intersection of Highridge Road around 5 p.m. Thursday.
Witnesses said the woman was partially tossed over the steering wheel after the airbags deployed.
She was the only driver involved in the crash and the full extent of her injuries is unknown, according to law enforcement officials.
The road has reopened, but the investigation into the events leading up to the crash is ongoing.
