A family in Queens is begging the person who stole their dog to return him home.
"To just steal a dog from an elderly person - that's two wrong things together. I thought it was disgusting. I really just found it so shocking," says Alonso Gil, a family member.
Gil says his family is heartbroken after their 10-month-old puppy Off-White was stolen.
"He's a mini-bully, kind of like a new designer breed. Off-White is also a designer brand so we gave him that name," Gil adds.
Officials say the incident happened Saturday at around 2:20 p.m. Gil says his grandfather was sitting on the steps of their home in Ozone Park with two of their dogs when a man on a scooter pulled up.
The grandfather, who only speaks Spanish, let him pet the dog. The man snatched up the dog and rode off.
The family says they're offering a $2,000 reward for the safe return of the dog.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
