The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its summer camp guidelines saying that children can get within 3 feet of each other.

However, children should still wear masks and stay 6 feet apart when eating and drinking.

They say camp counselors and other adults should stay at least 6 feet from children. Camps are advised to hold activities outdoors as often as possible, and to keep doors and windows open for indoor activities.

The CDC says group events and large gatherings should also be avoided.

While fewer children have gotten sick with COVID-19 compared to adults, the CDC says they still can be infected with the coronavirus and spread it to others and sometimes can have severe outcomes themselves.
