Chappaqua woman arrested for drunk driving after car accident in Thornwood

A Chappaqua woman is facing drunk driving charges after a car accident in Thornwood.
The head-on crash occurred around 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the intersection of State Route 120 and Nannyhagen Road.
North Castle police at the scene reported that one of the drivers was trapped inside the car and was unresponsive. The woman was taken out of the car and to a hospital.
After a two-month investigation, North Castle police revealed that the 58-year-old woman had a blood alcohol content of .37 percent, which is four times over the legal limit. As a result, the department filed a felony complaint with the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, and the woman was arrested on Feb. 6.
She was charged with driving while intoxicated and was arraigned in North Castle Town Court. She is due back in court on March 5.
