Authorities have upgraded the charges against the Rockland County woman accused of running over her husband with a car earlier this year.
According to police, Kelly McElroy allegedly ran down and killed her husband, 27-year-old Glenn McElroy, as the couple left the Fireside Pub together in January. McElroy was previously charged with vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated, but the charges have now been upgraded to vehicular manslaughter.
Rockland County District Attorney Tom Zugibe says McElroy could face up to seven years in jail or probation. She is currently free on $25,000 bail and is due back in court Oct. 4.
