Housing officials will conduct an audit of a Mosholu Parkway building, which tenants say is overflowing with violations.

Tracey Towers renters say many apartments at 40 W. Mosholu Parkway S. have peeling paint, leaky pipes and the smell of trash wafts through the walkways. Residents also believe management has neglected security needs by failing to fix an intercom that has been broken for two years. Tenants recently held a petition drive in support of a lawsuit.

Congressman Eliot Engel (D-Bronx) pushed for the Department of Housing Preservation and Development to perform the audit. The audit will investigate whether loans given to the management were used to fix the property. Engel says thousands of Bronx residents who call Tracey Towers home deserve better living conditions.
