The Clarkstown Town Board voted 3-2 Tuesday to terminate suspended Police Chief Michael Sullivan over charges of illegal surveillance and more.
Last week, a hearing officer recommended Sullivan be fired after he was found guilty on multiple charges including abuse of power and misconduct for unauthorized posts he made on social media.
The top cop was also accused of spying on people for personal and political purposes.
Sullivan is running for town supervisor and says he won't back down despite his termination.
Sullivan was suspended in July of last year. He says the allegations against him are nothing but a political attack with no merit whatsoever.
