Clarkstown Town Council member Patrick Carroll has announced his candidacy for the New York Assembly.
Carroll, a Democrat, is the first candidate to announce his candidacy since Democratic Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski announced he would not seek re-election.
Zebrowski is currently serving his ninth term representing the 96th District.
Carroll currently represents Ward Four on the Town Council, which covers Bardonia, New City, Nanuet, Spring Valley and West Nyack.
