Coast Guard: Search for vessel in distress on the Hudson River called off

The vessel was reported to be in the river between Bear Mountain Bridge and Iona Island.

Coast Guard officials say the search for a vessel in distress on the Hudson River has been called off for the day.
Officials say the initial call about the vessel came in just before 2 a.m. They say a person told them the vessel was taking on water.
The Westchester County Aviation Unit and Rockland Marine Unit also assisted in the search, which turned up empty.
The vessel was reported to be in the river between Bear Mountain Bridge and Iona Island.
