A proposed storage and retail facility, slated to be located at 1999 Central Park Ave., was up for debate Monday night at Yonkers' Will Library, with residents within District 6 expressing their concerns with the project.

According to public documentation from the property owners' legal representation, the building would be a five-story, 110,335-square-foot building.

It would include a self-storage space, with 760 storage units included, 1,800 square feet of retail space and parking.

Many on Monday expressed various concerns with the construction process, especially rock chipping.

"I hope this doesn't happen. We could understand if this was a nursing home or hospital, I think we would bite the bullet...let's put it that way...but storage? There's another storage facility not even 100 feet away," said Yonkers resident Aida Reveron, who lives in a nearby apartment.

News 12 contacted the property owner's attorney as well as the property owner for a comment, and is waiting to hear back.
