A wake is being held today for a retired White Plains firefighter who was killed in a crash on Thanksgiving.

Michael Fitzgerald, a 58-year-old Army veteran, died from his injuries after a crash on the Taconic Parkway.

Fitzgerald worked for the White Plains Fire Department for 26 years and was remembered by his colleagues as the "ultimate team player" and someone who was always reliable.

Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hopewell Junction.
