A petition is going around one Hudson Valley community to keep a man convicted of killing a Maybrook boy in 1996 behind bars.
Juan Miguel Peinado was denied parole in 2021 for the death of 12-year-old Danny Meyer.
MORE:
Danny was murdered by Peinado while the boy was on his way to an all-star baseball game in the Village of Maybrook.
Right now, state law allows murderers to have a parole hearing every two years.
Peinado's next hearing is scheduled for August.
Assemblyman Brian Maher started
a petition to keep Danny's killer behind bars.
