It's been more than four months since the Pearl River community lost NYPD Officer Mike Shortell. Now, people in Rockland are getting together to help his family.The husband, and father of three, was electrocuted while trying to help neighbors pump water out of their flooded homes. Now, friends of the Shortells and their extended NYPD family are preparing a benefit to help raise money for the family. The Mike Shortell Memorial Benefit will be held at the Pearl River Elks Club in Nanuet on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
