A Rockland County man remained in critical condition Monday after a stabbing over the weekend at a teenager's birthday party.
The Rev. Thomas Madden, of St. Peter's, a Catholic school on Ridge Street in Haverstraw, says outsiders intruded on a party at the gymnasium around midnight Saturday.
A 15-year-old's family had rented the space for a birthday party.
"This incident ensued," Madden says.
The incident allegedly involved a male hitting a female, several teen girls hitting each other and eventually adults getting involved.
At least one man, a 26-year-old from Congers, was stabbed. He is in critical but stable condition.
Police say three 16-year-old Westchester County girls were arrested on assault charges. Authorities say there may be more arrests in the future.
