Connecticut man suspected of arson, knife attack captured in Putnam County police chase

A police chase Wednesday in Putnam County ended with the arrest of a man wanted for arson and assault, according to police.
The sheriff says Nathan Pineda, of Connecticut, set fire to his mother’s car and assaulted his girlfriend with a knife.
State police engaged in the chase and apprehended him on I-84 at the Connecticut state line.
Authorities say Pineda also faces charges for resisting arrest.
