Police say they confiscated several pounds of marijuana, about a pound of cocaine and thousands of dollars in a drug raid Thursday at a Newburgh pizzeria.
Cops raided the pizzeria Joe's Pizza Two and an apartment above it on Route 9W. They say drugs and cash were found in both the restaurant's office and upstairs in the residence.
Police say they found cocaine packaged for individual sale and vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana when they searched the location. The pizzeria had been suspected of drug sales for months, according to authorities.
The pizzeria's owner has been released from custody, and his attorney says he didn't have knowledge that drugs were being distributed from the restaurant. Two employees, the apartment's tenant and one other person were arrested as well. All five are now facing drug charges.
