Counter-terrorism teams were out in full force at shopping centers and roads across Rockland and Orange counties Wednesday.

The task force set up random checks of high-profile regions in the area. Police talked to drivers and passengers and checked the cargo in the trucks. They were also making sure the trucks were safe to be on the road. There were no terror-related arrests, but police did arrest four people, including a wanted sex offender out of New Jersey, and 11 trucks were taken off the road because they were unsafe.

Law enforcement was also at malls and other heavily trafficked places handing out fliers with tips on preventing terror, such as paying attention to unusual packages and suspicious behavior. The goal was to prevent terrorism and increase police visibility.
