Fire crews spent the day battling a fire at a recycling facility in the Village of Sloatsburg.

The fire started Monday just before 2 p.m. at the Sterling Recycling facility. Sterling Mine Road was closed between Eagle Valley Road and Arcadia Court, causing heavy traffic.

Fire officials say the building is filled with construction debris, which was the main challenge for crews.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
