Crews in Washingtonville are cleaning up after rising floodwaters from Ida trapped residents in their homes.
A baseball field was almost completely under water on Thursday. Authorities are setting up barricades to prevent people from trespassing.
Mays Field on Depot Street was one of several areas in the village that was hit hard by the remnants of Ida.
The floodwaters gouged out part of the pavement on Brian Court, and the flash flooding also took out a section of Bull Road.
There are also thousands of dollars in lost crops, and homeowners with water damage.
Homeowners tell News 12 the cleanup process is a big job as they continue pumping out basements more than 24 hours after the storm.
County officials say 911 operators fielded almost 2,000 calls for help during the peak of the storm between Wednesday and Thursday - twice the normal amount.
