Many of the students, faculty and staff who were arrested at the SUNY Purchase pro-Palestinian encampment protest earlier this month might avoid criminal prosecution.
A spokesperson for the Westchester district attorney said the office is offering its pre-arraignment diversionary program to those eligible.
The program is given to first-time defendants charged with non-violent low-level offenses.
University officials said 70 people were arrested on May 2 and charged with trespassing for violating the school's "quiet hours" policy.
The school previously agreed to drop any disciplinary charges against anyone involved as long as they don't break any future rules in the code of conduct.
