A new database aims to help identify the roads in need of repair in Yorktown - and gives residents a way to see if their streets are more likely to get a fresh coat of asphalt.
The Yorktown Highway Department crisscrossed all 500 roads, rating the best and worst ones.
The town set aside more than $1 million to repave roads this year, so the new database will help them spend the money wisely while giving residents a chance to stay in the loop.
The database currently shows that more than half of the town's roads are in above average condition.
Paving is expected to begin later next month once schools are out for the summer.
