A Rockland County hotel that has been the site of numerous drug and prostitution arrests will remain open for now.
County officials wanted to close the Days Inn on Route 59 in Nanuet as a public nuisance.
The hotel's lawyer argued in court that the family that owns the hotel could not be held responsible for what guests do in the privacy of their rooms.
After a meeting by lawyers from both sides in the judge's chambers, they agreed to let the hotel remain open while the owners implement tighter security measures.
