Ramapo police say that a 48-year-old New Jersey man has died from some sort of medical issue that caused him to crash into a pole in Ramapo yesterday morning.
Police say the Emerson resident appears to have died as a result of some kind of medical emergency in the moments before he crashed, and not as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.
Officers found the man in his vehicle on the front lawn of a house on South Airmont Road after he apparently went unconscious and drove off the road, grazing a telephone pole in the process.
Ramapo Police Lieutenant Emma says that the crash was not at all related to the soggy weather currently plaguing the Hudson Valley.
