The defense presented its closing arguments this morning in the domestic-abuse case against White Plains Mayor Adam Bradley, maintaining that Bradley never abused his wife and it never should have been a criminal matter.

Bradley's attorney, Luis Penichet, argued that the trial should've been over in a matter of days and is representative of a garden-variety divorce case, not a criminal matter.

Penichet continued to question Fumiko Bradley's testimony, pleading with the judge to analyze her motives in the case. Penichet and Bradley have both maintained that his wife fabricated the original abuse charge when she learned her husband might be leaving her.

The prosecution will make its closing arguments next. Judge Susan Capici said today that she will issue a decision in the case on Dec. 9.
