In his State of the County address Thursday, Orange Executive Ed Diana said the county remains strong despite the current economic crisis.
The county executive also used the address to announce the creation of a new task force to ensure Orange County gets all it can from the federal government's stimulus package.
Diana also talked about the negative impact the state budget could have on Orange, saying the county would lose $9 million if Gov. David Paterson's budget is passed.
More than anything, the county executive used his speech to remain upbeat about the future.
"Orange County continues to do better than most, a testament to the foresight of many in this room who saw the economic storm approaching," Diana said.
