A Greenburgh senior says she has been without heat at her temporary Yonkers home since last October.
That's when the Greenburgh Housing Authority relocated Lorraine Frazier from her former apartment on Manhattan Avenue in White Plains. That building has been demolished to make way for more modern low-income housing.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says he's been in contact with a lot of the 30 seniors who were relocated from their Manhattan Avenue building, and says most are happy where they were placed, including a building on Lake Street in White Plains.
He said Frazier should have reached out to him directly about not having heat.
Renee Robinson, the federal housing commissioner with the Greenburgh Housing Authority, says seniors like Frazier should not have been moved in the middle of a pandemic.
Feiner says the town had an agreement with the builders of the new low-income housing building on Manhattan Avenue and had to move forward.
Seniors who were relocated will have the option to move back into the new building in about 18 months.
