In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an organization is preparing to highlight health disparities impacting Black women.
The Divine 9 will host an awareness panel at 6 p.m. at the Whitby Castle in Rye.
The panelists will include Debra Lee, the former chief executive officer of BET, along with other top medical experts and cancer survivors.
“One-hundred Black women are dying three times higher than white women because of breast cancer so hence there is an epidemic,” says Dr. Traci Alexander, a member of the Westchester & Rockland D9.
News 12’s Shannon Lanier will emcee the event.
