Domestic incident spurs wild police chase on Taconic State Parkway and Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park
New York State Police say they arrested Noel Mendez following a domestic incident in which he allegedly fled the scene, striking several marked Carmel police units with his vehicle.
Troopers pursued Mendez onto the Taconic State Parkway, where he collided with multiple uninvolved vehicles before exiting onto the Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park. Despite the presence of pedestrians, Mendez drove off-road in the park before reentering the parkway, traveling northbound.
Mendez was eventually apprehended and charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, and reckless driving.
