Structural damage on the Bruckner Expressway at the Rosedale Avenue overpass has some Bronx commuters concerned.
A chunk of the highway barrier is missing on the overpass along the eastbound lane. Officials from the Department of Transportation say an inspector will take a look at the overpass damage August 7.
The Department of Transportation has been assuring residents that Bronx bridges are safe following the collapse of a Minnesota bridge. That collapse has killed at least five. The DOT has not made a statement regarding the safety of overpasses in the borough.
DOT representatives told News 12 The Bronx that potholes along the busy expressway were being filled, but they had not been aware of the damage to the barrier.
