NJ Transit commuters on the North Jersey Coast Line faced delays Wednesday morning because of a downed tree in Monmouth County.
NJ Transit said service on the line was suspended in both directions between the Aberdeen-Matawan and Long Branch stations earlier Wednesday morning. A tree fell onto overhead service wires near Middletown, causing the suspension.
Service later resumed after the tree was cleared.
As a weekend storm moves closer to New Jersey, winds have already picked up across the area, with some locations near the shore reporting gusts of more than 20 mph.
