News 12 spoke with residents on Free Hill Road in Tomkins Cove Thursday afternoon about Wednesday night's storm.
A downed tree took out power lines and closed the road there for much of the day.
"We're good but the storm was really bad," said Callie, a soon-to-be fourth grader on her first day of summer with no school.
She and her family were headed to stay with a relative because of the storms impact.
"It was... really bad. It was horrible. We have no water, no electricity," she said.
While some residents there were without power, others relied on generators.
