The driver charged with causing a deadly drag racing crash in Orange County was found guilty of manslaughter Tuesday.
After only a few hours deliberating, the jury found Adam Moghaddam, 20, of Florida, guilty of manslaughter. The verdict comes almost six months after the crash that claimed the life of his passenger, 20-year-old Richard Rudy, of Warwick. Police say Moghaddam was traveling at speeds of 90 to 100 mph just before the accident.
The Orange County district attorney says he hopes others learn from this senseless loss of life. Moghaddam could face up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 23.
