A freak accident killed a Mount Vernon woman driving on I-95 on Tuesday.
State police say Susan D. Braga, 34, was traveling southbound in Harrison when a tree fell on top of her 2009 Toyota Prius around 7 a.m. The tree bounced off the roof upon impact and the Toyota continued a short distance until it crashed into Ford F250.
"Horrible, and i feel really bad," said Paulie Straface, Elmsford. "That's not something you can even imagine happening."
Braga suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Braga was the only person in the car.
The driver of the truck, Jonathan C. Bellemare, 36, of Kennebunk, Maine, was not injured.
This is the second accident of this kind the Hudson Valley to occur in the past five months. Anthony Apostolico, a Rockland County business owner, was killed when a tree crushed his truck on the Palisades Parkway on Father's Day.
