Drivers in City Island are breathing a sigh of relief after learning officials will not be implementing parking restrictions on one local road. Community groups wanted alternate-side parking rules instituted on City Island Avenue so Department of Sanitation crews could clean the street. Supporters of alternate-side parking say it would help keep the neighborhood clean and asked for the rules to be enforced in the morning and after the workday begins.Members of Community Board 10, however, have decided to hold off on implementing the parking regulations due to an on-going construction project that won?t be completed for two years.
