Drones were used to drop drugs, cell phones and other contraband into two prisons in the Hudson Valley, according to the State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association.
Officials say the incidents happened at the Wallkill and Sing Sing correctional facilities.
At Wallkill, officers report a drone dropped a green plastic-wrapped package into the yard in late May.
Supervisors say an X-ray revealed multiple cell phones, SIM cards, charging cables, pills and marijuana inside.
A second incident happened earlier this month at Sing Sing.
Officials say an officer saw a drone fly over the prison and drop another package into the yard.
Authorities say that package contained more than 500 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, along with pills, Apple earphones and a phone charging cord.
Officials say investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
