A Dutchess County inmate has pleaded guilty to promoting prison contraband after being found with a sharpened metal piece during a pat frisk at Fishkill Correctional Facility last May 5, according to prosecutors.

Michael Ramirez, 28, was moving units when a corrections officer asked him to submit to a random pat frisk.

During the frisk, the officer felt and found a 6 1/2-inch piece of sharpened metal in Ramirez's sweatshirt sleeve.

Ramirez pleaded guilty to promoting prison contraband in the first degree in court last week and is set to be sentenced on June 12.

He faces two to four years in prison consecutive to the time he is currently serving.
