A Dutchess County man will spend 25 years to life in prison for the murder of a woman back in 2014.

Ricky Gonzalez, 39, was sentenced Wednesday in Brooklyn Supreme Court.Prosecutors say he dismembered his 58-year-old girlfriend Maria Quinones and tossed her body into the garbage so he could collect her Social Security checks.

Gonzalez went on to pocket nearly $68,000 in benefits over a four-year period.

His victim was reported missing by family, but her body was never found.

Gonzalez confessed to his crimes in August of 2018, when he walked off the street into a Manhattan police precinct and told officers everything.
