A Dutchess County man who served time in prison for holding a middle school principal hostage at gunpoint has been convicted on new federal charges.
Documents show that Christopher Craft, of Pine Plains, was convicted of possessing a firearm and ammunition after a felony conviction.
Police say they recovered a shotgun along with ammunition rounds during a traffic stop in Hyde Park in April 2022.
Craft previously served nearly five years for holding a principal hostage for two hours before surrendering.
