A new Netflix movie that is generating a lot of buzz online was heavily filmed in Dutchess County.
"Things Heard and Seen," a horror/drama film based on an acclaimed novel, came to life in the Hudson Valley.
Red Hook Town Supervisor Robert McKeon says he's seen the movie twice, as his town was front and center for much of it.
Boating scenes for the movie were shot in the Hudson River, right off Red Hook's shores.
Movie magic showed the lead female role Amanda Seyfried go into the town's historical society when the exterior shot was filmed at the historic Red Church in Tivoli. The inside was captured several miles away at the Elmendorph historical site in the Village of Red Hook.
A seminary in Barrytown was turned into a college for the film.

Other spots to keep an eye out for are the Red Hook Library.
"No spoiler alerts, although I will say, for a community here with a lot of professors, you may not look at your college professor the same after seeing this movie," says McKeon.
