You can enjoy a beautiful view of the Peconic River in downtown Riverhead when visiting Long Island's newest brewery - Peconic County Brewing.

After visiting and researching Long Island breweries for a couple of years, Southampton native Jeff Schaffer figured out the niche he wanted for his own brewery.

"I said, 'I need a big space with a full kitchen and something cool outside that people are really going to enjoy,'" says Schaffer.

Schaffer found it in downtown Riverhead at the ground floor of a brand new 5-story apartment building.

The brewery has 10 beers on tap. Their best seller is Dream Girl IPA. All the other beers are named after spots on the East End.

From the kitchen you can get lobster rolls, burners, pretzels and grilled cheese sandwiches.

In only a couple of months, they've already attracted big crowds, a trend they expect to continue as summer approaches.
