The New York state Senate passed a bill Wednesday to bring electronic table games, including roulette and card games, to Yonkers Raceway Casino and to other racinos.
If the Assembly and Gov. David Paterson approve the measure, it could bring $100-$120 million to the cash-strapped state annually and expand Empire City Casino's hours of operation.
"It will give us a little broader appeal than just the slot machines," says Tim Rooney Jr., of Empire City Casino.
The New York State Lottery is already testing the software for the electronic table games. If the games are deemed legal, they could be in Yonkers before the end of the year.
