Emotional farewells continue on Long Island for the victims of the recent bus crash on I-84 in Waywayanda.

Last night, hundreds gathered at the wake for band director Gina Pellettierre, affectionately known as 'Miss P.'

She is remembered as the heart and soul of the band. The superintendent praised Pellettierre as a champion of the music program who impacted thousands of lives. Two more viewings are scheduled for today.

The community also turned out in large numbers to pay respects to the band's matriarch, Beatrice Ferrari.

Last night concluded the second and final day of wake services for the 77-year-old. Ferrari dedicated decades to teaching in the Farmingdale district.

Even after retirement, she accompanied the band on their annual camp trip to Pennsylvania.
