Ex-Haverstraw deputy mayor gets probation for stealing funds from nonprofits

A former Village of Haverstraw deputy mayor was sentenced for stealing funds and donations from nonprofit organizations.

Emily Dominguez admitted to stealing almost $9,000 from the Rockland Community Foundation where she served as a board member and former president.

Dominguez is sentenced to five years’ probation and must pay back the money she stole from the foundation.

Her sister Janice had also pleaded guilty.
